Miracles and gifts of Healing

In the New Testament, the word miracles is used chiefly in connection with the promise that the followers of Jesus would do supernatural things (Acts 1:8; 1 Cor 12:10,28-29), extraordinary events not capable of explanation by natural causes but requiring supernatural power to serve as a sign.
Gifts of Healing were also miraculously attributed to the direct intervention of God or one of His servants in both testaments (Num 12:9-16; 2 Kgs 4:32-37; Lk 4:40; 7:11-15; Acts 3:1-18; 9:36-40; 28:8). These were not just the cases of healing for the sake of healing but for the purpose of attestation of the healer, his relationship of God, and of the power or God.
